About Us

wave is the Oversight Agency for Ontario’s Infant Hearing Program (IHP).

We provide provincial leadership to ensure infants and families across Ontario receive consistent, high quality hearing screening, audiology assessment, audiologic management and intervention, and family support services.

Our role is to support program excellence through clear standards, strong partnerships, and transparent governance.

Our work includes:

Oversight of Program Delivery

  • We provide oversight of service delivery by funding and supporting Lead Agencies across Ontario to ensure services are delivered consistently and in alignment with established program policies and standards.

Strengthening Protocols and Training

  • We develop, maintain and implement program protocols, and provide training, tools, and guidance to enable service providers to deliver high quality care.

Evaluation and Quality Improvement

  • We review program data and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with partners to implement meaningful, evidence informed enhancements that improve outcomes.

wave is a partnership between Newborn Screening Ontario at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and the National Centre for Audiology at Western University, and is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).
